Lazy dazzzz

Thursday

Quiet day recovering from the 340 mile round trip to Bearizona.

Friday

Another quiet day, a bit of shopping in the afternoon - shoes and clothes!

Saturday

Went to the Mall..  Arrowhead Town Centre
Lovely, air conditioned with a really good food court.   Panda Express chinese food highly recommended!

Sunday

Back to the Mall to change the t-shirts I bought the day before for a smaller (!) size.  Had lunch at Panda Express again (was that good) and a bit warm when we left.  The car showed 118f!  Then after tea Michelle and I went to photograph the sunset on the outskirts of the town.  Quite spectacular, especially with the clouds and rain on the mountains.

On the way back we popped into the Walmart for some milk and parked next to the truck!  I was as high as the wing mirror...

Monday

Sat by the pool today again (something to do with the excessive heat warning we have had for the last week or more).  Too hot to go too far and definitely too hot to walk anywhere.  Decided to go out for tea though to Bill Johnsons Big Apple Steakhouse in Phoenix.  Had the 16oz T-bone steak with french fries and campfire grits - lovely.  Had real sawdust on the floor as well!

Goldfield Ghost Town & The Apache Trail

Tuesday

Superstition Mountain

Time for a trip.

We decided to go to the Goldfield Ghost Town and The Apache Trail for a day out and what a day we had. we stopped in the ghost town first and had a look around and took the narrow gauge railway around the town with Hurry-up Ernie the Engineer.

This is Hurry-up Ernie the Engineer.

It was 103F so we got in the car then set out around the Apache Trail, we got as far as Tortilla Flats, population 6 (yes 6 people), so we stopped for lunch at Superstition Saloon, I had the Bullrider burger - one of the house specials.

Onward to the rest of the Apache Trail.

Can you spot the trail?

So after 250 mile (22 mile of rough untarmaced road) we were home again.
